Solomon Kane Thumbnails About The Artist
artwork by Solomon Kane "Dream Catcher"

mixed media on illustration board
20" X 30"

This is a tribute to the North American Indians and the general concept of a Great Spirit in regards to the divine. Some of the tribes from the Southwest make what they refer to as a ‘dream catcher’ which is supposed to be hung near the bed in order to filter out bad dreams and nightmares. The symbol on the bottom left is my version of a dream catcher, and the large symbol with wings represents the soul and creation. The wings, which surround it, shows that, the divine is totally involved in the process. There is both sun light and moon light emanating from here, and the blue represents the spiritual, the red the physical, and the yellow, the divine, all of which comprise our inner being.
