I decided to create this collage for two reasons; first because of this individual's impact on the world, and secondly because of my love of his music. In his short-lived life, Amadeus created music that set the stage for the musicians of the future. I chose the palette and images in the painting to celebrate his life, as well as depict his sad death. The canvas is a collage of some of his works, and the deliberate splatters of paint were applied to give the viewer a sense of what is was like at his burial. It is said that Amadeus never rewrote any of his music, and interestingly, I knew when I finished this piece that it was complete. Creating this image gave me so much joy and peace, and hopefully the viewer of this image will feel that joy.
